Lori and Jeff Tieger

  JeffandLori BrideandGroom

Lori and Jeff first met in May 2004…yet another online dating success story.  Quite a connection was made, and they were engaged in October of that same year.  Lori, a school teacher, and Jeff, a business consultant, both decided that there would be children in the picture…as quickly as possible.

The loss of a child can do one of two things to a marriage…tear it apart or make it stronger.  We were determined to get through this together.  Although we grieve in very different ways and there are some tense moments, we’ve learned to respect those differences.  Getting through each day may require different things for each of us, but the support and strength we give is continuous.

You realize how much you love somebody when their pain becomes yours.  This tragic event has certainly tested our marriage.  Our determination to have more children and a happy life together has given us strength.  Daniel will always be with us, always spoken about, and always remembered.

Creating Daniel’s STAR not only honors Daniel and raises money for awareness and research, but it gives us the opportunity to work together in our grief to both honor our first-born son and help other families.

The Daniel Ian Tieger Fund for STillbirth Awareness and Research

DanielSTAR

Daniel’s STAR was created from the need to honor Daniel and all of the other angel babies that never had a chance at life.  It is our hope that through community fund raising events we make an impact on decreasing the number of families that are devastated by stillbirth in the future.  All proceeds from Daniel’s STAR go to the MISS Foundation for their programs that support cutting edge research and share information with expectant parents that will reduce the risks of stillbirth.

MISS Foundation

The MISS Foundation is a 501 (c) 3, volunteer based organization committed to providing crisis support and long term aid to families after the death of a child from any cause. MISS also participates in legislative and advocacy issues, community engagement and volunteerism, and culturally competent, multidisciplinary, education opportunities.
